Franck-Condon Effects In Collision-Induced Electronic Energy Transfer: I2(E;v=1,2)+He,Ar

    Get PDF
Collisions of I-2 in the E electronic state with rare gas atoms result in electronic energy transfer to the D, beta, and D-\u27 ion-pair electronic states. Rate constants for each of these channels have been measured when I-2 is initially prepared in the J=55, v=1 and 2 levels in the E state. The rate constants and effective hard sphere collision cross sections confirm the trends observed when v=0 in the E state is initially prepared: He collisions favor population of the D state, while Ar collisions favor population of the beta state. Final state vibrational level distributions are determined by spectral simulation and are found to be qualitatively consistent with the trends in the Franck-Condon factors. The experimental distributions are also compared to the recent quantum scattering calculations of Tscherbul and Buchachenko. (C) 2004 American Institute of Physics

The problem of this research is how social contact and social communication between teacher and students in learning sociology in class XI IPS of SMA Katolik Talino. The purpose of this research is to analyze how social contact and social communication between teacher and students in learning sociology. The using method is qualitative descriptive research with the object of the research is teacher and students in learning sociology. The result of this research is social interaction between teacher and students still not really good. This condition can be known by social contact and social communication between teacher and students that appears less closeness, less enthusiasm of studying, and there is no teacher’s apperception to students. From the finding can be concluded that social contact of the teacher and students in learning sociology in Class XI IPS of SMA Katolik Talino is not good and social communication between teacher and students is not good too. Keywords : The Social Interaction Of Teacher And Students, Sociology Learnin

The development of oil palm plantations in Indonesia as a commodity crop has increased rapidly from year to year. The oil palm plant in Pondok Kelapa District, Middle Bengkulu Regency is the second-largest plantation of people after oil palm. Increasing the income and welfare of farmers can also be done through the evaluation of peatland custom in oil palm crops. This study aims to evaluate the suitability and analyze peatland limiting factors for oil palm plants in Pondok Kelapa District and provide peatland processing direction based on limiting factors to produce palm oil production in Pondok Kelapa District. This research was conducted in Pondok Kelapa Bengkulu Tengah Regency from December 2014 until January 2015 through 4 stages, namely pre-survey, field survey, data analysis, and making a map of the potential development of oil palm plantations. The results showed that each observation point has a low to moderate soil fertility rate It is characterized by low pH and N total values, as well as low P2O5 in providing nutrients for oil palm plants. In general, limiting factors are the dominant limiting factors, namely available nutrients (P2O5, N total) and nutrient retention (pH). The results of land suitability evaluation in Pondok Kelapa District showed the land suitability class is S2 and S3, actual land suitability class for oil palm plants in Pondok Kelapa District with barrier factors hampered drainage, fertility/low soil nutrients, and soil drainage is very hampered/very bad. Efforts to increase peatland potential for oil palm crops can be done by improving drainage, planting systems, and high maintenance of groundwater levels in oil palm plants.

Performance Disparities Between Accents in Automatic Speech Recognition

Automatic speech recognition (ASR) services are ubiquitous, transforming speech into text for systems like Amazon's Alexa, Google's Assistant, and Microsoft's Cortana. However, researchers have identified biases in ASR performance between particular English language accents by racial group and by nationality. In this paper, we expand this discussion both qualitatively by relating it to historical precedent and quantitatively through a large-scale audit. Standardization of language and the use of language to maintain global and political power have played an important role in history, which we explain to show the parallels in the ways in which ASR services act on English language speakers today. Then, using a large and global data set of speech from The Speech Accent Archive which includes over 2,700 speakers of English born in 171 different countries, we perform an international audit of some of the most popular English ASR services. We show that performance disparities exist as a function of whether or not a speaker's first language is English and, even when controlling for multiple linguistic covariates, that these disparities have a statistically significant relationship to the political alignment of the speaker's birth country with respect to the United States' geopolitical power

Perception student is the perspective student to an object. on this research it is learning media. While the learning media is an important tool in learning a lesson. Current media USAge has grown with the Technology Information and Communi-cation who gave birth media based computer, so it is necessary to develop media animation simulation. This research is done at SMA Persada Bandar Lampung, using a class that X.1 class with a sample population of 35 students from the class X. This research to determine the effect of perceptions student about media animation physics simulation to result learning. This research data perception students regarding media animation simulation physics used questionnaires completed by the students and the students have calculated the value of the end. As for the data result learning obtained from the test in the form of multiple choice questions that have been recapitulated in value. Then to examine the effect of the normality test, linearity, correlation and simple linear regression. Results of research based on the analysis of hypothesis testing are a very strong effect perception student about media animation simulation physics to result learning with the value of r is 0.996 with a positive direction and the regression equation is Y = 7.858 + 0.939 X on the material in class X.1 at SMA Persada Bandar Lampung

Millennials who rely on technology and still use ipads, smartphones, TVs, and so on. Every day makes social media a very important part of social connections. They spend more time a day with digital technology devices, as well as a variety of apps than they spend with their families, because of too much surfing in cyberspace, millennials often neglect the obligation to worship. The research method in this study is qualititative research method. Qualitative approach focuses on the general principles underlying the realization of a meaning of social symptoms in society. The object of analysis in qualitative approach is the meaning of social and cultural symptoms by using the culture of the community concerned to obtain an overview of a particular category. The study objectives of qualitative approach are patterns that apply as general principles that live in society. These symptoms are seen from a stand-alone unit in a round and complete unity. So qualitative approach is often referred to as holistic approach to a social symptom. First, preaching through psychological approach, psychological approach is very important to know which methods and processes of acceptance will be taken against the object of preaching through. Second, rhetorical approach, namely by conveying messages and advice through writing or directly such as questions and discussions preaching through examples of conscientiousness. Teenagers in today''s millennial era love to imitate someone they admire. Tips on preaching to millennials in the 4.1 era, namely by using psychological approaches, rhetorical approaches, through setting a good example, and through social media
